Acting Reviews

"Wonderful, entertaining play! I truly believe that this is one of the best plays at the Magic Circle Theatre. Last night was the closing play and it was a packed house. The audience laughed and cried during the play...and they gave the cast a standing ovation. The actress playing Lala (Janey Pintar) stole the show--the depth of her character was fantastic. The performances by the actors play Boo {Patty Lewis), Uncle Adolph (Brian Lewis), Reba (Chris Cay Stewart) and Peachy (Beau Miller) were also great. I enjoyed this play immensely."

"This play is a must see! The play was well cast...the actors playing Lala (Janey Pintar), Boo (Patty Lewis), Reba (Chris Cay Stewart), and Uncle Adolph (Brian Lewis) were excellent. Although I laughed throughout the play, I also learned about the Jewish culture and prejudices they encountered. You will not be disappointed with this play!!"

"...Lala Levy, the flighty and flirtatious daughter, played perfectly by Janey Pintar, is slightly manic in her quest to find a nice boy to escort her to the dance as well..."

"The ensemble (Rob August, Lucinda Hitchcock Cone, Andrew J. Perez, Janey Pintar, Alexandra Ralph, Michael Stevenson and Brian Watson) bears a heavy load. Whether they’re stymied analysts or cutthroat stock traders, the cast does well—most especially when they’re velociraptors in business suits."

"Perhaps the best show of the year-and there have been plenty of good ones-is on stage at the Art Court Theatre on the Sac City College campus through this weekend. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Simon Stephens, based on the novel by Mark Haddon, takes an entirely sympathetic and worthy hero on a voyage of discovery of self and the world at large."
